SUMMARY:
The EJ&E Railway is seeking an experienced supervisor of maintenance to oversee the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of railroad rolling stock in our Mechanical Department.

Responsibilities of the position would include: Conducting and overseeing the safe and efficient operation of railroad activities in the mechanical car department; inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and facilities in accordance with recognized industry standards, established policies and procedures, and governmental regulations; making recommendations of improvements, and repairs of mechanical equipment and facilities; investigating causes of derailments, accidents, equipment damage, failures, and delays; maintaining quality of workmanship to industry standards, for the assignment of employees to obtain maximum efficiency to meet daily workload; maintaining tools and equipment in a state of readiness in area of responsibility; initiating and maintaining required reports, records, employee time cards, and material requests, and training and development of subordinates.

At times it may be necessary to work in excess of the usual 5-day week, with some weekend work, as the needs of the service may require.
