SUMMARY: This is an entry-level civil engineering position. The position will assist management staff in the Maintenance of Way Department by providing civil engineering services, which can include structural inspection, general civil engineering design, analysis, and occasional construction supervision. Would also be expected to provide evaluation of proposed projects and make recommendations of possible changes in operations that could contribute to increased company profits. Work is split between an office environment and fieldwork; may also be assigned to our Gary, IN facility. Candidates must be flexible to work at out-of-state locations and to the possibility of future relocation, as the needs of the company may require. |

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology. Candidate should have effective oral, written and communication skills; and be proficient in personal computer user and AutoCAD literate. Must be capable and willing to perform structural climbing. Must have a driver's license. |

OTHER SKILLS: Good organization and planning skills. Hands-on experience, especially in project management or civil engineering, through summer internships, co-operative education programs or school assignments is a plus. |
