The Supervisor Locomotive Maintenance & Technology position is a full-time exempt front-line supervisory position of the Union Railroad Company of Transtar, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of U. S. Steel focusing on the planning, directing, and managing locomotive inspection, testing, maintenance, overhaul, technology updates.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assures compliance with safety as a core value for all supervised employees, correcting unsafe acts and conditions that create potential for incident or injury
- Trains, develops, and evaluates employees
- Assures that locomotive inspections are completed as required by the Federal Railroad Administration
- Prepare and supervise jobs as it relates to manpower, equipment usage, and material needs
- Maintains records and reports in accordance with applicable State and Federal Standards
- Aid in installation and troubleshooting of DVR, remote control, event recorder, and SmartStart equipment, etc.
- Investigates causes of incidents, derailments, equipment damage, failures, and delays

Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-years locomotive mechanical or industrial mechanical experience with significant electrical skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Technical Trade school or associate’s degree in electronics
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong background in computers with ability to adapt to multitude of platforms in support of locomotive equipment is required
- Working knowledge of railroad facilities and equipment is preferred; this may include repairs to locomotives and equipment
- Work outdoors in an industrial environment in all weather conditions
- Ability to work extended hours including weekends and holidays and on-call as required
