EJ&E,
known as "Chicago's Outer Belt," encircles the Windy
City from Waukegan, IL on the north, to Joliet, IL on the west,
and easterly to northwestern Indiana, steel capital of the U.S.
The "J" is home to steel mills, petroleum and chemical
plants, and a diverse group of distribution centers. Coal is
also moved to Midwest Generation and State Line Energy utility plants in Illinois and
Indiana. EJ&E operates a fleet of general service and specialized
railroad equipment. The "J" handles a full range of
commodities for its customers from bulk raw materials to finished
products.

customers access to the North American Rail System. Rail connections
include: BNSF, CN, CPRS, CSXT, NS, and UP. The Interstate
Highway System also makes the "J" an excellent location
for rail-to-highway distribution centers.
