Mobile River Terminal was formed in 1985 when WGN purchased the former Marine Bulk Handling (MBH) from United States Steel Corporation. Mobile River Terminal has the capability to load and/or
discharge Panamex class vessels with a maximum draft of 40 feet.
Currently, MRT handles annually 3.2 million tons of iron ore,
1 million tons of furnace coke, and .5 million tons of other products
to include pig iron, steel slabs, mill scale and steel coils for
export orders. |
